ABOUT
For many years organizations have done an excellent job at providing social help to developing countries. However, this noble act has created a unintended culture where people have become accustomed to receiving external help and losing hope in their own abilities to help themselves and their community.
The Elykia Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Massachusetts, with a global vision on outreach. The organization focuses on going beyond the act of giving by attempting to foster an environment where the locals find the most effective method of addressing and solving their own social issues and creating a better future.
Without hope there is no future. Soccer gives hope to millions of people across the world. We use soccer as a vehicle to create a positive environment where kids learn basic soccer skills that can be applied to solve real life problems. Soccer is not just about the act of kicking a ball, it requires discipline, strength, creativity, teamwork, problem solving skills, endurance, communication skills, leadership skills, etc. all of which are critical in solving social issues. Our goal is to have kids use these skills to develop their own abilities to help their own community and go beyond what other organizations are providing.
Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
